Politically Incorrect

HEAR YE. HEAR YE.

Who responds to political advertising today? Per a recent article in the Huffington Post, not too many folks. Yet candidates are spending more money than ever (like $350 million) on commercials. If you live in Ohio, Florida or Iowa—you’ve probably heard way too much already.

As representatives of the advertising community, we’re wondering how this process might evolve.

WIN. WIN.

Here are a couple of ideas we’d vote for 1) Create meaningful buzz. Put some of those campaign funds directly into job creation or healthcare or education or whatever the issue is. 2) Say no to negativity. We're not saying no to all traditional advertising. Just saying no to making so much of it unconstructive.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Does political advertising need to change? Will candidates ever try something new, or are they destined to keep running on empty? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
